The son of Rarity and Blueblood, Elusory has always been fighting for his father's approval. All of his life he's wanted to be somepony everyone could like, wanted friends and adventure, but he's been held back by his lack of a cutie mark. Since he's never managed to earn one, his self esteem is completely shattered, and he feels he isn't worth his father's time, a sentiment reinforced by his father's callous remarks sometimes.

With low self esteem but big dreams, Elusory is gifted at magic, but he doesn't see himself as having any talent at all. He's quick to put himself down and rarely defends himself. Polite to a fault, Elusory wants to be a 'dignified prince', and thinks quite a bit about honor and nobility. He will always keep any promise he makes, he strives to treat everypony kindly, and he's willing to help out complete strangers - if they'll let that oddball blank flank help them.

Although he hasn't found his cutie mark yet or his true purpose, he has big dreams, and his hope carries him through the depression of being a blank flank at his age. Elusory desperately wants to be important to Equestria, wants to do something epic and amazing, and although he's very bad at self esteem, when on his own he can be remarkably fearless. He wants to be somepony important so that just once somepony will like him and he can have friends. His parents have broken it off by the time he's an adult, and it plays into his insecurity, as he thinks that he's the cause of the split. He remains willfully ignorant to the personality flaws of his father. All he thinks when it comes to his father is that he should do something worth the family name. Almost all of Elusory's stress is self-imposed and self created.

Serious, courteous, uncertain and honest, Elusory isn't the greatest of ponies, but he gives everything his all in life despite his flaws.
